St Mary’s is an 11–19 co-educational comprehensive school with Academy status and an admission number of 180 for each new Year 7 cohort. We are one of four Church secondary schools in Hertfordshire within the Diocese of St Albans. The school is widely recognised in the local community for its high quality provision and outstanding commitment to inclusion. We continue to deliver an excellent standard of education for all students, enabling every individual to achieve their full potential regardless of ability or background. We moved to our new purpose-built site on Lieutenant Ellis Way in April 2010. The new school buildings provide an exceptional learning environment and our modern facilities include a full-size sports hall and main hall, drama studios, an outdoor amphitheatre, dedicated computer suites, science laboratories, technology workshops, a Learning Resource Centre and Student Centre, social spaces for each year group and industrial-standard IT facilities. Further information regarding St Mary’s CE High School can be obtained here: https://st-maryshigh.herts.sch.uk/ Tender information: The successful tenderer will be required to provide excellent cleaning services at St Mary’s CE High School, which has 915 pupils and 138 teaching and support staff. The contract term being tendered for 3 years, from 15th February 2027 – 31st March 2030. There is an option for a further extension period for up to two additional years to 31st March 2032. The contract offers an excellent opportunity to review and propose enhancements to the current cleaning services. This includes both core term time cleaning and periodic deep cleaning throughout the year. The Client is keen to secure a high quality cleaning service whereby its students are able to enjoy excellence in education, supported by excellently kept facilities. The Client expects a tightly managed service where key objectives include excellence in both leadership and communication. The Client also expects a management style delivered by the successful contractor that supports, encourages and develops the cleaning staff. The successful contractor must also have robust plans to ensure the school is fully staffed at all times. The Client’s further key objectives are consistently high standards of cleanliness across the school, a safe and hygienic environment for pupils and staff, reliable service delivery throughout the year, and a responsive working relationship with the school. The Client is not obliged to accept the lowest price submitted for this tender, rather the Client is keen to secure best value from this contract and to deliver best value to its students. Innovative and creative ideas as to how the cleaning services can be developed and improved, will be welcomed. The Client seeks a contractor that is keen to work in partnership and who will deliver to its highest abilities, at all times. Competitive Flexible Procedure This procurement will be run under the Competitive Flexible Procedure. This will follow a two stage approach, with stage 1 being the Procurement Specific Questionnaire (PSQ). Here a minimum of 5 candidates (or less, in the event less than 5 meet the minimum criteria) and a maximum of 10 candidates, will progress to stage 2. Any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement and a minimum score of 60% must be achieved. Selected tenderers will then be invited to stage 2, the Invitation To Tender (ITT). Here, the evaluation of tender response will be set as 30% price and 70% quality. Value of contract: The annual value of the current contract is £219,319 Therefore, the value of this contract is £1,096,595 The contract shall be a fixed price contract with invoices raised monthly to the Client.
