Project P510190 — Botswana Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience Project Using the Multi-Phase Progra · GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Republic of Botswana Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience Project (HEPRR) Health, Nutrition and Population Loan No. 98750 | Grant: Livable Planet Fund (LPF) Project ID No. P510190 The Government of the Republic of Botswana, through the Ministry of Health and the Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BoMRA), has received financing in the amount of US40,000,000 from the World Bank (IBRD Loan No. 98750) and a grant of US3,000,000 from the IBRD Surplus-Funded Livable Planet Fund (LPF), toward the cost of the Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience Project (HEPRR), and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project is part of the regional HEPRR Program implemented under the World Bank's Multi-Phase Programmatic Approach (MPA), spanning 11 countries across Eastern and Southern Africa. The project will include the following components: Component 1 : Strengthening the Preparedness and Resilience of the Botswana Health System (US$34.4 million). This component, implemented primarily by BoMRA, will support the construction of a National Drug Quality Control Laboratory (NDQCL) incorporating climate-resilient measures, and the refurbishment of BoMRA Regional Offices. It will also finance the procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies for the NDQCL, the supply and delivery of Vital, Essential, and Necessary (VEN) commodities for warehouse stockpiling, and software development for a National Product Catalogue (National eLMIS system). Component 2: Improving the Detection of and Response to Health Emergencies through a Multisectoral Approach (US$5 million ). This component will support renovations to the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) to address audit findings and support accreditation transition. It will also finance the procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies for the NPHL and the procurement and maintenance of emergency stockpiles.
