Scope of works
The purpose of the project is to deliver a new Human Training Centrifuge (HTC) and constructing a new building for the HTC. At the Center for Man in Aviation (CML), a HTC is currently housed within an existing building. The current HTC is outdated and needs to be replaced. The HTC is an electrically driven long arm centrifuge with a gondola attached. In the gondola, there is a chair, video- and audio equipment, and a display is installed. It also includes a monitoring system for the student/ pilot inside the gondola. A two-way communication system ensures the communication between the student/ pilot and the trainer/ doctor. The purpose of this HTC includes, but is not limited to: Pilot screening; - Training of AntiG-Straining Manoeuvres (AGSM); - Evaluation of individual Gtolerance; - Training with Gprotection measures; - Testing of Gprotection measures; - Physiological research. The “new building” entails the Design and Build of a new structure adjacent to the existing centrifuge building. It also includes carrying out mechanical - and electrical installation work, and all necessary work to ensure the HTC functions properly within the building. The purpose of the new building includes, but is not limited to: House the HTC and supporting facilities such as centrifuge room, control room, server room, fitting room, storage room, medical/debrief area, entrance hall, classroom, pantry, toilet, changing area and shower etc. Provide all facilities needed for operating the HTC while
