Project P507360 — Eswatini Youth Employment Opportunities Project · Method: Consultant Qualification Selection · Consulting services · VALUE CHAINS SPECIALIST Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Value Chains Specialist will lead and coordinate interventions that strengthen agricultural and agribusiness value chains, promote youth engagement and enhance income earning opportunities through improved production, marketing, access to finance and related services. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Develop value chain development strategies and action plans focusing on inclusivity, sustainability, and market orientation. Facilitate the integration of youth into agricultural value chains including both on-farm and off-farm activities. Strengthen linkages among value chain actors, including producers, aggregators, input suppliers, processors, buyers, extension services and financial institutions. Conduct selection and provide oversight to training providers, ensuring that youth receive practical, market-relevant technical and business skills. Facilitate community sensitization and awareness and mobilization campaigns to attract and prepare youth beneficiaries. Coordinate the recruitment, selection and enrolment of youth beneficiaries into value chain and enterprise programs. Support the design and delivery of training programs on mindset change, value chain development, agribusiness management and entrepreneurship. Support the clustering of youth enterprises to promote economies of scale, collective marketing and improved access to services. Support youth-led enterprises with seed capital disbursement and ensure effective utilization through mentoring and follow-up. Establish and strengthen market linkages between youth agripreneurs and buyers, processors and exporters.
